Blue Monday is known as “the saddest day of the year,” usually the third Monday of January. Cold weather, post-holiday crash, and short days can definitely affect your mood. But I believe we can rewrite the narrative.
Here are my favourite ways to make this day brighter — Laura style.
1. Start with a cosy ritual
Light a candle, drink something warm, put on music you love. Create softness around you.
2. Wear colours that boost your mood
Studies say colours affect emotions — but honestly, you already know this. Wear something pink, red, or soft pastel. It works.
3. Go outside — even briefly
A short walk = instant mood lift. Fresh air, daylight, movement. Magic trio.
4. Talk to someone you love
A quick call, a voice note, a meme — connection makes everything less heavy.
5. Do one tiny productive thing
Make your bed, tidy a corner, answer one email. Small wins fight big blues.
Blue Monday? Not for you.
Turn it into your reset day, your soft day, your cosy Monday. You’re in control.
